Amazing how slim their non-prosthetic legs are. I would have thought that with all the time you spend on one leg, you would develop super-sized quads like a pro-cyclist.
The girl in the center is Paola Antonini, born in 1994 in Brazil, who resumed her modelling career after losing her leg in an auto accident:
In 2014 she was preparing to travel with her partner for a New Year’s celebration. As they were putting luggage into their car, a drunk driver crashed into Paola, crushing her leg. She was rushed to the nearest hospital where doctors had to amputate her leg below the knee.
Just as she was learning to walk again, doctors told her that they had to amputate her leg again, this time above her knee. The whole process severely affected Paola: “I’d never felt such intense pain in my life,” she said.
However, while the tragedy cost Paola her leg, she didn’t let it destroy her life. Instead, she continued to pursue her dreams in the modeling and fitness industry.
