I feel your pain. Growing up our cat lived to ripe old age of 24. She lost her hearing at about 19 and used to let out this demonic sound every time she wanted to get inside. This usually occurred outside my window at 4am. The induced nightmares were terrifying.
My sister is a vet tech and had a deaf kitten left at her work in a box, she knew after a couple days of the off key incessant yowling at work she would probably never be adopted, so she introduced her to my brother, (who already had 2 cats and was happy with that!) They ended up being a perfect match because they are both deaf!
