I would go squirtle originally but then started going char cause less fire pokemon early on and plenty of grass and water. could train up a bug to fight brock or something like that iirc
This is actually an interesting idea. If you have multiple kids, you could give each one this choice on their first birthday and it would be a fun thing to joke about and tell the kids friends and stuff.
