Yep. Our house had linoleum in the kitchen, bathroom, and family room. The rest had shag carpet and we were told it was plywood underneath. My mom and I had gone one day before we'd moved in and we're pulling up carpet and found out it was hardwood everywhere. The only places that had tile were the upstairs bathrooms.
Still not as bad as the 1980s trend of popcorn ceilings and zero light fixtures in any room. So you had to figure out which light switch connected to which outlet to turn on stupid fucking lamps.
