I was shocked at how many young people in their 20s (and some in their 30s) involuntarily live with roommates. But then, a quick look at real estate prices or even rentals compared to [stagnant] wages tells us all we need to know.
I live in a somewhat popular tourist destination and Airbnb became a quick cash grab for landlords, also large companies brought up properties to do AirBnB undercover so housing is fucked at my location.
To put things in perspective I rented a two bedroom which was extremely spacious for $550 USD that same place is now $1300 USD because the demand for housing is so high!
