Accepting that sometimes we're just idiots is one of the things I wished I'd learned earlier in life. I spent far too long trying to do things perfectly and punishing myself for failure. It's absolutely okay to be a novice. I wonder how things would've been if I knew that sooner.

My dad helped me with models, school projects, softball, made us a balance beam, told jokes, played cards, basketball, board games, adored my mother, taught me to drive, took us on cheap fun vacations,... I thought the sun rose and set on him. I lost him in 2012. I still love and miss him every day.

Sounds like you are on the same path. Keep up the good work.
