It seems fairly simple for Macron: tell Bolsonaro to take the aid and do something real to fight the fire and he will admit being wrong; don’t do it and He doesn’t need to apologise because it’s just a fact at this stage.
Whatever he does (even apologise to save the forest) Macron wins as he comes out the bigger man and it will do wonders for his internal opinion polls.
