Dude, hope you showed your mom some appreciation. That’s a great job.

Oh man. This is intense. When I was in pre-kindergarten, Halloween was approaching and I told my mom how much I wanted to be a Ninja Turtle. We were poor (something I didn’t realize at the time) and there was no way my mom and dad could have afforded an officially licensed costume (ie, the ones sold in department stores).

My mom ended up making me my own turtle costume. But it looked exactly like a real turtle. Pre-K me was not happy. I begrudgingly wore it to school. It didn’t land. My classmates thought I was a real turtle. I was bitter about it.

Many, many years ago I realized how awesome my costume was and how amazing of a mom I had/have. To handcraft a costume while working full time and taking care of me and my sister. What a hero.

Appreciate this post and wanted to share. Love you mom.
