While we have a right to be upset, we cannot let a few bad apples (replies) warrant chopping down the whole tree. What I’m saying is we can be civil and NOT resort to full on toxicity, the store and it’s prices 100% needs work and tweaking but let’s not act like all of Respawn is evil here.

This is some A-class professional response. The worst thing you can do, especially as a dev, is engage with the trolls and conspiracy-theorists. It's unfortunate, but that's just how games-as-live-service works. A full $60 game used to require very little engagement and discourse after release outside blog posts, but now every single little detail is expected to be talked about and discussed because, naturally, people want reassurance that their money is being well-spent. I don't really blame the community and definitely not the devs, but it's just the sad reality of customer-dev relationships these days.

F2p is a business model that if done right it guarantees FAR MORE profit than charging for a game upfront. It is not a philanthropy it is something taught in business school. Plus if games need a large player base to be fun they have to get that route in order to achieve a large player base so that the game an be fun to attract and retain people as well as profits. It is not about good people bad people, it is about business get your shit together people. Those devs are just doing their job. For fucks sake.

I like the game I have more than 500hours on it I have spent 10$ because I only care about BPs. But business is business and I certainly don't like when company employees try to bullshit me that they do some kind of charity when they are just making money.
