If you're interested in seeing some of my other images that didn't make the cut, you should check out my instagram by clicking here.

I've always loved making compilations like this. I think sharing astronomy images, and especially wallpapers, are an absolutely amazing way to keep the public thinking and engaged in astronomy. Contemplating the vastness of space I think is an excellent common ground many people can find between them. The starless image I think really brings this to a whole new level, really driving home that these are giant clouds of gas and dust floating out there. Just amazing to think how the forces of stars have sculpted these giant blobs overtime. The starless images were created by running some of my other images (below) through a program known as starnet++.

If you would like to know the names of the nebulae, get a bunch of more information on them, and see them with stars, they are listed below from left to right:

Eastern Veil

Omega

Elephant Trunk

Horsehead and Flame this image got me shortlisted for Astronomy Photographer of the Year for 2019

Pillars of Creation

Orion

Wizard

Pacman

Lagoon

Pelican

Total exposure time across all 10 images: ~230 hours

Thanks for looking (and sorry in advanced for reddit's compression!)
