I’ve mentioned on reddit before but growing up, my friends and I had a best friend named Shawn. He has Down Syndrome and we didn’t care. He liked Star Wars, Pokémon, and pro wrestling just like us.

I moved in HS but we all kept in touch. Shawn graduated HS. Got a job as a Walmart greeter and even got married. His wife has severe autism but Shawn is the only person who can calm her down. We were his groomsmen. Shawn and his wife live with her parents after getting married. They are the 2 happiest people I’ve ever met.
