My first job, was there 6yrs. 5 employee company . Barely got a goodbye, no chance of a card. Second job, was there 11 yrs, huge corporate. As soon as I said I was leaving I was put on gardening leave and was called back in out of hours to return my phone, pass and laptop. No goodbye / card / was escorted in and out by security.

So my friend has told me this story 100 times and I love it every time:

He was looking for work and submitted resumes and interviewed at a few places. He ended up getting hired by Marriott but then also at Eastern Eastern Airlines at the exact same time. He wanted Eastern so he just never went back to Marriott.

Time passes, it’s the holidays - and then he gets something in the mail from Marriott. It’s a Christmas card all signed by like 50 employees whom he had NEVER WORKED WITH. Not even one day. AND it was the only card he had received at all.

So sad it’s hilarious.

Edit: yes that was the only Christmas card he got from anyone, personal or otherwise.
