It doesn’t matter what you SAY to a cat. They are programmed to jump up on the bed and collect all their own data before before beaming it back to the mothership.
I do this but with my dog...but also, if he doesn't come lay down with me after a while, I call him in there, because he obviously isn't responsible enough to manage his own bed time.
My dad got drunk at a family party the other night, and I walked in on him laying down on the floor having a full conversation with our dog, who was just patiently listening to him
