As I sit here binging Heartland on Netflix...between this show and these pictures, I’m officially planning a trip to Alberta for next summer. Beautiful!

Edit: I wanted to say thank you for all the recommendations below! I’m really excited about this trip.

I moved to Calgary way back in 1976 and left to live with another parent in Ottawa in 1980. Calgary was tiny but we camped every year all over the province. I never forgot it and thought about coming back but didn’t know how to afford it with a husband and kids. Brought my then husband for a visit in 96 and the next year we were moved! I have been here ever since and I don’t think I’ll ever leave again. I love that it’s not as humid as Ontario and not as expensive as BC. I love that it cools down even after the hottest day. Makes for the best camping! I love that within a 2 hour drive I can be right in the mountains. If I hadn’t come back I’d still be talking about wanting to live here. The best times of my life have happened here. I love that on a clear day I can take a 10 minute drive and see the mountains. They never fail to make me feel happier.
