I fully support the sentiment, but I'm not sure when this period of time when people were less racist than now is. The internet makes it easier for racists to be noticed and to communicate with each other, but I don't think there was ever a time in america where there was actually less racism. Maybe it was just less noticeable.
Edit: Lots of people posting really good points about racism being a hot political topic today and racists feeling emboldened by things like the president to be more openly racist. I still feel like racists are a smaller group than they appear, but I agree that it's just as important today to take a stand against racism as it has ever been.
