As someone who was in the Foster Care system with 5 brothers, I can tell this is not only super special, but insanely lucky for those kids.

I was put into foster care when I was about 8 years old due to poor living conditions and both parents being on drugs. My 5 other brothers were about a year apart, starting at 6 years of age and they were also put into Foster Care.

I went to a group home first, then after a few months went to a family where two of my brothers were, then I went to another house where only one of my brothers were.

I jumped to so many different houses, some with my brothers, some without. I would have given ANYTHING to have just lived under the same house hold as them.

Due to other circumstances, I was given up for adoption but my other brothers were given to different family members.

As 23 year old male, I still break down crying some days because I miss them.

If you have is siblings, cherish them. There is nothing like a siblings love and you never know when they’ll be gone.

Edit: Went to sleep and woke up to so many heartfelt replies, people sharing similar circumstances and genuine questions.

First, I appreciate everyone who’ve gave me Awards, but please, there are so many places to donate to help children that are in the system. Consider donating there next time.

Second, I know where they are and who they are with, but do the circumstance that I was in (and I don’t want to share that on the internet) those family members won’t allow me to see them. I do see the oldest of the 5 from time to time, but he is going through a difficult time.

Lastly, if you are someone that has or is going through something similar, NEVER give up. Never. There will always be someone for you. And if you need to talk, I’m here to talk. I know it’s hard and I’ve had my own share of weak moments, but you can do it. I promise.

Thank you all for your amazing words!
