The way I look at these situations is always “if they can treat mass murderers like that, why do other cops treat us like trash”. I’m sure they could’ve killed him and had their ass covered because they’re police officers, but they didn’t. So what does that say about the cops that kill people because they “resist arrest” or whatever the excuse may be?

The El Paso shooter wanted to commit suicide by cop and wrote that he didn’t want to be captured alive and wouldn’t surrender. Then proceeds to surrender b/c he was too much of a spineless coward.

As an El Pasoan, I'd like to say that our police department has always been generally well trained, respectful, and fair. We're an immensely diverse city and they do not discriminate, and so a good job making us one of the safest cities in America.

One of our cops did improperly draw his weapon at a group of kids last year, but that is a rare and isolated incident.

I am a huge advocate against police brutality. But I often use our own police department as the shining example of what the force should be. Please use them as your example here as well. EPPD did what they should have done today. They were not in the wrong. All police forces should be doing what they did. They were not in error.
