I’m an automated gate engineer. I once got called to a job where one gate leaf had suddenly started stopping short about 15 degrees of fully opening. On inspecting the underground motor I found a rat had become squashed between the back of the motor housing and the gate mechanism. Motor torque at the hinge is pretty fucking intense so It was a pretty sorry site.
