this is one of the most common forms of human trafficking in a lot of states. its harder to catch than a lot of other forms of trafficking because the loop is so contained. usually theres a build up period where the guardian will vet potential clients so they dont get caught in sting operations as much. its usually up to a family member to come forward before it stops. i'd say in land locked states its probably the most common form of human trafficking after the "summer job selling magazines" style scam.
A close friend of mine was molested by his drug addict mothers boyfriend while she was coming down from meth. He was 5. When he told his mom what happened she told him, to never tell anyone, and to pretend it didn’t happen because she needed the molester to give her “medicine”. He was repeatedly molested for the next three months until the molester OD’d. My friend eventually went to live with his grandparents, but suffered from anger and addiction issues. He didn’t tell anyone about the molestation until he was in his 30’s and his mom denies it ever happened because she was the “best mom ever”. She’s strung out on meth and my friend has washed his hands of her.
