What doesn't help is that in most cities, it can be even hotter as all the concrete and asphalt soak up the heat and release it when it's supposed to be cooler. There was this map on the Dutch subreddit where it showed that cities like Rotterdam experience temperatures 3 degrees higher than the rest of the country because of this. I hate the fact that I have to be in the city of stuff this week, otherwise I'd be at my parents' house near the North Sea where it's much more bearable.
