Yesterday morning, there was a thread on 4Chan's comics and cartoons board about an upcoming comic called "Superman Smashes the Klan," which is an adaptation of a famous Superman radio play from like the 1960s or so.
One of the responses I loved/hated/loved was a guy angrily complaining "Yes, we get it, everyone who voted for Trump are the same as the KKK."
Nothing in the thread or the description of the comic mentioned or alluded to Trump or his supporters in any way. There was nothing this guy had to defend himself against, but he felt the need to get defensive anyway. The mere fact of being reminded of the targets of their bigotry's existence is enough to set them to furiously denying that they're bigoted against them.
