What's really surprising Democrats is that this kind of shameless, evil racism won't cause Trump to "automatically" lose the election next year.
For decades Dems were used to the reality where if a politician were exposed as a racist or a sexist, that was it -- his political career was over.
Not anymore.
Trump has made racism mainstream. So, Dems, how are you going to counter that?
An economic policy would help -- something to counter Trump's "If you can't find a job it's the Mexicans' fault."
This isn't a joke. It's a huge shift in American politics.
