Threatening to go no contact with my mother unless she goes to therapy:
Mother: "I tried that! Therapy doesn't work!"
Me: "You went to therapy and talked about how I was an ungrateful child for all you did for me, how you did your best, how I won't stop blaming you for all those years of abuse and abandonment, etc. right?"
Mother: " :pause: How did you know that?"
Me: "'Cause you would think that the only reason for therapy is to pay someone to make you feel better, but never cross your mind you could ask them to teach you how to save your relationship with your child."
Man this is hardcore my grandpa. He was an angry abusive manipulative monster to his wife and kids for his entire life. Now he’s had a couple strokes and nobody wants to deal with him. Everyone’s just waiting for him to die and it’s honestly is what he deserves.
