The other side is just as bad. And the insurance are continuing his claim where he lost the back end

Edit. Going to put this here because there seems to be some confusion on the UK laws in place. Liability isn't on us (the garage) because we have notified both him and his insurance, advised the best course of action and we will provide a waiver that the owner will sign showing he knows the car is unroadworthy. Unlike many people here think, we cant just keep his property hostage from him. We're just a repair shop, not any kind of authority. We have offered to fit 2 tyres at the price it costs us to buy them, which is £255 each.

Just because you can buy a Maserati doesn't mean you can afford a Maserati.

Had 08 qp in shop. Advised valve cover gaskets due to oil leaking on the cats. Customer complaint was burning oil smell. Advised car May/can/will become a fire. Declined valve cover gaskets. Towed in a week later due to fire. Insurance totaled it and paid out. Interesting world we live in.
