Keep in mind that this was after just the non-backlit Gameboy Advance had been out for a bit. Being able to play in the dark was AWESOME. The only way you could before the SP was with a goofy light accessory that didn’t really work very well. A full backlit screen was a substantial leap forward.

Thing hasn’t been plugged in, in years. Every time I find it, turn it on and still has juice.
