Why not? Their viewership are on their side of a perceived cultural war. Their allegiance was carefully cultivated with ideological appeals. Fact and logic do not matter. Neither do a concern for honesty, or of fairness. They know they can come right out and say anything and most of their base would be utterly unmoved because of the "greater cause."
