lol, a friend of mine claimed he did this and traveled for all South America for free for a sabbatical year after graduating from college, claiming he did street magic and street performance (whatever the hell that means) and he even managed to win some money in the process.
a couple of years later, in his engagement party, his drunk dad overheard him trying to impress my gf at the time telling that story, and he abruptly intervened: "fuck off, your grandma paid for that trip as a graduation gift and you stayed in five stars hotels the whole time, and it was for a week; don't disrespect her like that"... dude in case just awkwardly laugh and said "you must be confused dad, that was a different trip"... and his dad just laughed his ass off and told us there's like 5 different versions of that story, and every time he hears it again, it's more dramatic; there's a version in which he found an old guitar abandoned in an alley, and he became a street musician who was about to sign a deal with a major record company in Argentina, but he missed so much his country and he had to said no.
