Trump was able to keep the low unemployment rates we saw at the end of Obama's term for a while by not doing anything to affect it. Now, though, his idiotic trade war is starting to have effects on the economy beyond just the 18-month stagnation of the stock-market. The GDP has stalled for the past 6 months, the government is having to borrow money from China to pay off Trump-supporting farmers to keep them afloat, and job creation looks like it's going down as well.
