This bible college gives better housing rates to students who are married. I'm not knocking their view of marriage, but it promotes a weird atmosphere. I know so many people from high school that attended this institution, felt pressured to marry, then filed for divorce within two years of finishing their degree. It's a weird dynamic.

Man this shit is the worst when you don't wanna get married but you're 22 and CONSTANTLY surrounded by friends/family/acquaintances pressuring you. First to find someone, then "settle down", then have kids. I DONT LIVE MY LIFE FOR YOU BARBARA MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS.

All the super Christian kids at my college were married to each other by the end of junior year, and we all knew it was because they wanted to fuck but didn’t want Jesus to smite them for not being married first. Since we’ve graduated, my friends and I have started a betting pool for which couple will get divorced first and when.

Edit: To clarify, I really don’t care if you get married young, do your thing if it makes you happy. The situation was just funny because a) all the proposals, and later all the marriages, happened within a few months of each other, like it was a competition, and b) it was literally only the super Christian group doing this. Even the military guys weren’t married.
