I have a B&W photograph that I took of my gf (now wife) and I about 50 years ago. The image came from a negative that I scanned so there are no indications that the photograph is old.

People always ask if those are my kids (nope, my kids are way older).

When I finally the person that's really me (or us), they're utterly flabbergasted. Yep, we used to be young and beautiful.

I'm a weightlifter/bodybuilder and about 10 years ago an older man in his 70s saw me in the supermarket and came up to me and said that back in the day he was a bodybuilder too. He took out a picture of himself in his wallet from probably 60 years ago. He talked about how people like Charles Atlas motivated people like him to start lifting weights. Looking at his picture then and then seeing him now made me realize my own mortality as one day I too would eventually be like him if i was lucky to live as long. It's a humbling feeling to see that picture of how young and muscular he was to what he look like now and realizing that's also all of our futures.
