My dad made me pay $250/month for a 40 year old rusted out truck, plus the $2000/year insurance for the family (that I later found out I wasn’t even on) on the premise that he was teaching me how to pay bills and simultaneously save. Told me up front that it would all come back to me when it was time to go to school.
Graduation came and I get handed a $500 CD. I asked where the other $14,500 was. He laughed and said he never agreed to give that all back.
Then I found out he transferred the $500 out of my checking account to buy the CD.
He’s right tho, he did teach me something. That i can’t ever trust him.
