The real problem is our archaic economy that still bases work hours on factory hours from the industrial revolution.
People should work based on how long it takes to complete the tasks at hand, like hunters and gatherers would have done.
Forcing people to stay in a place from 9-5 plus commute makes it impossible for any gender to have an appropriate amount of time and energy for their children.
And yes, more so women who become physically incapacitated for at least a few months before and after birth, and can’t properly raise and nurture a child for only a couple of hours each weekday.
