Love these kinds of things. A 22 year old died of a terminal illness in between borderlands and the release of borderlands 2. His friend then messaged Gearbox to have Claptrap read a short eulogy to honor his friends late memory due to the fact that Claptrap was his favorite character. Then Gearbox went ahead and put him into the game as an NPC named Michael Mamaril after the guy who passed away. Now he will live on forever in the game.

When announcers talk about being able to "feel the electricity in the air" it is a real thing. I am not a super spiritual person, but the atmosphere at a major sporting event when the crowd is super into it is as close to a spiritual experience as I have ever had. I would imagine you could still be in touch with this even if you went blind, and it is awesome that this guy chose to still attend.

What a tribute. The cost implications of this is way bigger than "just put in a statue". Thats a seat they will never make money on again. What a great way to honor a fan.
