It was reported that he was made to stand outside the school as a punishment for not being on time, when he saw a man with a detonator jacket entering the school. He confronted the man who then detonated his vest.
Aitzaz reportedly died on the scene and was posthumously rewarded the Sitara-e-Shujaat, a Civilian award.
