Rick Fox completed the first major hurdle of his escape from elo hell: successfully ranking up to Iron III tier. The Echo Fox owner announced his success early hours of Friday morning with an elated post to his Twitter account.

The Echo Fox founder’s epic climb from the depths of League of Legends’ lowest ranked tier has garnered him universal support from the community as a whole, including pro players, team owners, and even WWE superstars.

Upcomer first reported on Fox's Iron IV ranking earlier this week. Subsequently, Fox took note of our article on the first edition of The GG Podcast. The aside served as a light-hearted reprieve from the serious issues he and Echo Fox CEO Jace Hall have dealt with in relation their ongoing dispute with shareholder Amit Raizada.

Fox's advancement to the penultimate lowest tier comes after coaching and offers of help from players of all ranks and reputation, including Yiliang "Doublelift" Peng and Hai "Hai" Du Lam. But it looks like the former LA Laker has kept it solo, according to his OP.GG info, grinding forward the old fashioned way.

Still, it hasn’t all been roses for Fox. With increased ranking comes increased pressure, which has apparently manifested in the form of some unkind comments from teammates.

Now the Echo Fox owner has just a few games of promotion “shield” saving him from immediate re-demotion before he begins the hazardous climb again.

LCS please. I need a weekly segment tracking Rick Fox's ranked progress. He represents the good and purity of NA.

Is this going to be our underdog story of the year? Rick Fox, once the lowest of the low iron, makes it all the way to grandmasters and takes his team to Worlds!
