I’ve found this to be a particular problem with the baby boomer generation. I’ve noticed a pattern of “I expect to be respected like an authority” while at the same time not respect me as a person. It’s a bizarre combination of entitlement and hypocrisy and makes me wonder if somehow a large majority of an entire generation is lacking self awareness
