Can we get a picture of Buzz from Neil’s helmet from this picture?

Fun little story about those space suits (more properly known as Extravehicular Mobility Units, or EMUs):

The company that made them, ILC industries, went through a crazy R&D process to develop them. They really had no way to actually test the suits on the lunar surface, so they were just going off of a list of criteria that NASA gave them. They made them as tough as possible but they were still somewhat fragile and weren't meant for roughhousing.

Cut to the lunar surface, Buzz and Neil are bouncing around, falling over, in general acting like the first boys on the moon. The team at ILC is in maximum butt clench mode because they didn't design those suits for rough housing, but they can't just tell Neil and Buzz to stop exploring the moon.

So yeah, these guys were sitting there scared shitless for 2 hours that their teflon-fiberglass suits were going to break and kill the first guys on the moon.

There's a neat documentary clip on YouTube with some of the people that were in mission control during the moon walk, and features a segment with someone from the space suit development talking about how scared shitless they were. Can't seem to find it though.
