Create good habits for yourself. Start by 1 minute a day and then push yourself more a little every day. Consistency is the most important thing, not how much time. Once you develop a habit it is difficult to get rid of. Essentially, you will hack yourself into becoming more productive.
My mom always compares life to a video game. You are constantly leveling up (yay!) but the bosses get harder and smarter (oh no!). Everytime I start complaining about something in my life she says "Congratulations! It's time to level up your character!". She's pretty durn smart.

They're called maladaptive behaviours. They used to protect you, now they're doing anything but.
