My brother served in Iraq, in the Air Force. His bunk mate in bootcamp committed suicide, working in the a US his closest friend committed suicide, he found his remains in the hanger they worked in. He was on suicide watch when he was honorably discharged after serving his full contract. He committed suicide April 2018.
The note he left us was written and dated the day his friend committed suicide over 5 years ago.
My mother now feels other families should be warned that the risk of enlisting is far higher than being killed in a war.
The pain of losing him is the single thing in my entire life I've honestly thought I couldn't handle.
