We started my freshman year of high school. Two of the players have been engaged to my sister. One married her :). My campaign has outlasted three marriages, and many parents whose houses we grew up playing in. One player dials in from Mexico City.
The technology has definitely got better. If I'd had a 3D printer and a VTT when I was a teenager, I probably would not have graduated high school. 5 of the 9 players have DMed at some point or other.
I expect we'll be playing as we die off one by one in the (hopefully distant) future.
