Fun fact: to test the possibility of building such huge structures, especially on the sandy grounds of Berlin, they placed a test-object with 14m diameter, weighing 12.650tons there.

Dunno why but Palace of the Soviets reminds me of Barad-dûr from the Lord of the Rings :D
