I was reading that over 60% of people can’t handle an unexpected $1000 expense without turning to credit card debt so the number of people who would be fully prepared to handle an unexpected baby is pretty low, tbh.

Obligatory

Edit: Just to address a number of comments that seem to suggest I am equating money to human life, I am not. I meant that the meme is suggesting that pretty much everyone that is pro life is financially able to care for a kid, I’m just pointing out that a large percentage of the total population (regardless of their stance on this issue) would be unable to financially care for a kid, since kids cost more than $1000.

My ex wife tried to get one during her second pregnancy because we didn’t have enough money to raise another child. Couldn’t find one within a reasonable distance and we didn’t have the money to travel so we decided we’d just figure it out monetarily when the kid came. She ended up having a miscarriage and then surprise!! Had over $10,000 worth of hospital bills- her pregnancy healthcare should have covered it but she ‘no longer met the criteria of being pregnant’ so her healthcare was canceled while we were in the hospital.

Noone is fully prepared to deal with an unplanned pregnancy. I was as prepared as I was ever going to get for our 2 *planned* children. I was not prepared.
