What's the point of having a means of impeachment if the process takes longer than a term?

A bunch people are sitting around debating on the political strategy of impeachment.

Meanwhile I’m sitting here looking at the current state of the institutions of government and thinking to myself, regardless of what the political outcome, what precedent does it set to lay down on the most corrupt administration of our lifetime and not attempt everything within the confines of constitutional power to right the wrongs.

This isn’t about winning an election, it’s about the long term ramifications of presidential abuse of power going unchecked and moving yet another step closer to consolidated executive power. The next person will see what they can get away with doing and then push the envelope once more.

All because the senate are meanies who won’t do their job? It doesn’t matter. You have to do it, it’s their duty and oath to do so. If the senate wants to be Presidential, do-nothing, muppets that is their choice. However, impeachment will lead to a very public unearthing of facts and truth about the president, and he’s fucking TERRIFIED of that for a reason.
