The saddest part of this law passing to me is the fact that if a rich person wants an abortion, they will get one. They’ll be able to go to a state that provides it, or pay a good amount for a doctor to do it secretly. It’s the young and especially poor women that this will affect the most. And Alabama has plenty of those.

The UK legalized abortion when they realized it would happen no matter what and that it saves the lives of girls and women who would otherwise go through a really dangerous under the table operation.

Alabama is in bottom 5 worst states for infant mortality. https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/pressroom/sosmap/infant_mortality_rates/infant_mortality.htm

Atleast the GOP has been working hard to reduce this number.

I imagine there being a sudden and "unexplained" increase in alcohol and tobacco sales as well as complications caused by drinking/smoking while pregnant.

Regardless of your opinions on abortions, the option for a safe and healthy abortion needs to exist.
