The entire “North of the Wall” plotline is so obviously a backwards written mess.
How would the Night King get passed the wall? It’s magical, after all.
A dragon! He kills and raises one and uses its undead fire to destroy the wall?
Okay, so how does he get a dragon? Uh, Dany flies north of the wall?
Wait, why would she do that? To rescue Jon! Wait, why is he beyond the Wall? To,... capture a wight?
Why would he want to capture a wight? To study it for weaknesses, NO! To show it to Cersei to try and postpone the war between her and Dany and unite forces for the Long Night! David, you’ve done it again! Also, super awesome undead polar bear.
Edit: Funny little aside to this — Even if Cersei wasn’t a vindictive bitch, why would showing her one zombie prove that an entire army exists that is ready to consume all life on the continent? At best all it does is prove the dead can be reanimated. And Qyburn already proved that in some degree earlier.
