Just throwing this out there, but I started having this problem with my pup and mentioned it to the vet. A test or two later we found out she has hypothyroidism. So in her heart she did want to walk, but she just ran out of energy so fast.
Started taking a pretty cheap pill twice a day and she's back to pushing through the long walks. Lost some weight and her coat got amazingly thick/soft. Now she wags her curly tail so hard she's rubbed a little bald spot on the tip, but I see it as her version of laugh lines.
