I like how the commenter assumed the abuser was sane/mentally stable. Why would this rational person commit violence?

I dunno. Maybe they aren't the calm, paragon of logic you assume they are. Maybe they're just an abusive piece of shit.

My ex wife got charged with felony assault for throwing two ( yes she went to the kitchen and refilled) two hot cups of coffee in my face and punching me repeatedly. She then called the police. The cops showed and came straight for me. Once the female office got within two feet of me she looked at me and said” Jesus what happened to you”. I told her the story and they promptly took that bitch to the clink. Don’t ever hit back boys, you can restrain but don’t let Knucks fly. Take the licks then hit the bricks

I have a male cousin who is one of the nicest guys I know and his first marriage was with this chick who was very entitled and a spoiled brat. Her dad is a commissioner and he raised her to be extremely entitled. So she was super manipulative and somehow convinced my cousin she was a good person.

After they got married, she would get drunk every night and attack him with FORKS. She scratched the shit out of him and stabbed him with forks. He endured that for the longest time before our family knocked some sense into him. He actually thought he could get her help. Even then when he filed for divorce, his family threatened to throw my entire family in jail for 'hurting his precious daughter'. Luckily nothing of that sort happened.

Years later my cousin met a wonderful woman and they've been married for like 4 years and are very much in love.
