The identities of the victims have not been released by officials.

The campus was placed on lockdown as soon as officials received reports of an active shooter.

That lockdown was eventually lifted on a building by building basis, according to officials.

A candlelight vigil is scheduled for students, faculty, alumni and allies of UNCC at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Gov. Roy Cooper traveled to UNCC Tuesday evening, and Rep. Alma Adams will be on campus to stand with them and the city Wednesday.

UNCC Chancellor Philip Dubois called this "the worst day in the history of UNC Charlotte" later Tuesday night at another press conference. »

Tim Hortons CEO blames Canada’s cold weather for slow sales

Comparable store sales at Tim Hortons fell 0.6 per cent worldwide, and 0.4 per cent in Canada.

The company estimates severe winter weather during the quarter, which ended March 31, resulted in a drag of about one per cent on comparable sales.

Enough with the 'Actually, Electric Cars Pollute More' Bullshit Already

But in an Op-Ed last week it peddled the tired and disingenuous notion that electric cars, by the very virtue of their production, pollute more than fossil fuel cars.

Specifically, the Journal cites a German study that says that, over the life of the vehicle, a diesel Mercedes would pollute less than an electric Tesla.

The UCS goes on to note that advances in battery manufacturing are happening all the time, consistently reducing the emissions associated with assembling electric cars. »
