For anyone interested: that thing is over two decades old and no, it wasn't that expensive. Probably not much more than a regular refrigerator. I'm not rich guys.
The brand is Foron, by EFS Hausgeräte (Greetings from the GDR...). When it broke a few years ago we were told that it's irreplaceable because EFS went bankrupt and the patent is held by some other company who doesn't use it. It's not sold anymore, there aren't even spare parts (sorry). So it has to be fixed again and again, no matter what. We love it dearly and hope it will survive a few more decades. I'm open for name suggestions

again, no, we're not rich. This thing was not expensive, it's just rare now

Edit 3: today I learned that even when you think your life is the most boring one possible there is probably something that makes it extremely special. In my case it's our fridge. I won't take you for granted anymore baby. Now I need to sleep.
