I very strongly admonished my grandmother for abusing a call center rep once. I once worked in a call center, so to hear her be that nasty to the poor girl on the line (who was incredibly civil given my grandma’s attitude) really irked me. Grandma even put it on speaker so we could all hear the convo.
Once grandma hung up, I read her the riot act about how that poor girl had NOTHING to do with her issue, other than being the poor soul who answered the phone, she probably ruined the poor girl’s day by being a jerk, and it was people like her who caused people like me to quit my call center job because I couldn’t handle being yelled at one more day.
Not sure if it made a difference, but it made me feel a little better.

Call centers seem like a special kind of hell. I’d try almost anything besides ditch digging by hand and plumbing.
